what is brandy

Brandy is a common term for brandy that is produced by distilling wine. Brandies from Cognac and Armagnac in France take their name from the place of origin. They are protected by EU legislation of origin. Our brandy is made from Eau de Vie, which is distilled from fruit wine, which in our production is apples and pears. The apples are grated and pressed in our belt presses, after which it ferments and when it is ready is distilled in our patented Müller Aroma distillery.

Calvados

In Normandy they make Calvados and there have been plantations with apples for centuries. At one of the newest Calvados museums there is a large banner that says (It was the Vikings who started it) The apple trees are spread out and cows walk between them. Calvados became more widespread in the 1980s. where interest in authentic products is growing.

We have taken up this production as our fruit is tart and has a fantastic taste. Several of our brandies (Calvados) are made from pure Eau de Vie and receive medals in Tirol, Berlin and London. Today, several of our brandies are stored in new casks for 2 years and are finished in used Stauning Whiskey casks and Oloroso Sherry casks, but also our own Pommeau No 18 casks. This gives completely new layers of taste.
