Barrel aged
Our apple brandy is aged in oak barrels.

what is brandy
Brandy is a common term for brandy that is produced by distilling wine. Brandies from Cognac and Armagnac in France take their name from the place of origin. They are protected by EU legislation of origin. Our brandy is made from Eau de Vie, which is distilled from fruit wine, which in our production is apples and pears. The apples are grated and pressed in our belt presses, after which it ferments and when it is ready is distilled in our patented Müller Aroma distillery.

Calvados
In Normandy, apple orchards have existed for centuries. In one of the newest Calvados museums, a large banner hangs, stating (It was the Vikings who started it). The apple trees are scattered with cows grazing among them. Calvados gained wider recognition in the 1980s, when interest in authentic products grew.
We have taken up this production because our fruit is tart and has a fantastic flavour. Several of our Brandies (Calvados) are made from single-varietal Eau de Vie and have won medals in Tyrol, Berlin, and London. Today, several of our Brandies are aged in new casks for 2 years and finished in used Stauning Whisky casks and Oloroso Sherry casks, as well as our own Pommeau No 18 casks. This creates entirely new layers of flavour.
